The Fondation d’Entreprise J.M. Weston has tasked itself with supporting initiatives that encourage manual work and the exchange of outstanding skills in France
It has three main lines of focus, which it hopes to fulfil by taking concrete action, especially through its partnership with the Association Ouvrière des Compagnons du Devoir et du Tour de France:
- Support creation and innovation
- Encourage skills training
- Promote open-mindedness and exchange
A formative relationship with the Association Ouvrière des Compagnons du Devoir et du Tour de France
In order to develop large-scale projects, the Fondation d’Entreprise J.M. Weston sought inspiration from people’s stories and experiences, and as such, joined forces with an organization renowned for excellent French expertise: the Association Ouvrière des Compagnons du Devoir et du Tour de France.
In many ways, the Fondation feels that it closely embodies the values of the Compagnons du Devoir, who maintain skills, interaction and exchange as their core values.
These are values that closely resemble those of the J.M. Weston shoemaker, especially since the Industrial Director of Manufacture in Limoges, Gilles Lapierre, now takes on the best Companion apprentices in order to teach them unique skills and give them a taste for crafts in which expertise goes hand in hand with creativity.
